Friesland is striving to become the most circular region in Europe by 2025. In a circular economy, resources are reused and recycled. Energy comes from renewable sources. This approach minimises waste and emissions by closing the loop of product lifecycles.
The Circulair Friesland association brings together business, government, education, social enterprises and other relevant parties. This type of cooperation and collaboration across organisations and sectors is essential in a circular economy. As loops are closed, a wide range of sectors can use each other’s resources, knowledge and skills. Circulair Friesland proves that the circular economy is not just a concept, but a tangible and sustainable economy that allows companies to be profitable, create jobs and work together towards a sustainable future.
